What is an evening routine?

An evening routine is a conscious activity that you routinely, repeatedly, and intentionally engage in. It doesn’t have to be anything in particular, but rather, just something that works for you. It’s best to keep it simple so you’re more likely be consistent every night.

Let’s take a moment to explore some evening routine practices that don’t have to take a lot of time and include intention, affirmations, and self love to help you get a restful night's sleep.

Create an evening quick meditation routine that melts away the stress from your day.

Take a few deep breaths into your belly and let the air freely flow out completely. Reflect on your intentions and how you held them in your mind during the day. Do not judge yourself simply affirm that you were conscious, many times throughout your day, and aware of your intention set that morning.

Find a common time each evening to do this in conjunction with another activity you already do; this serves as a trigger to remind you. Perhaps while drinking your cup of tea for example, or brushing your hair. Link the activity to this mental exercise

The daily occurrence is more important than the time spent.

Last thought in your head, a bridge to the subconscious.

It takes only a few minutes to set and reinforce your intention before slipping off to sleep.

In the moments before falling asleep, clear your mind by taking several even, deep, slow breaths. Think of your intention and the emotion of how future you feels when you achieve your highest potential. Hold that moment in your head. Be as elaborate as possible. For example, if you are manifesting to be featured on a show with your published book, picture exactly what you are wearing, the host, the heat of the studio lamps, the entire detail of it all. Like a future memory. As you drift asleep keep your vision and emotion in your mind. Push it into your subconscious by repeating this activity every single night, without lapse. Getting into and achieving a place where you can access your subconscious is trained by this quick bedtime activity. If even for only 30 seconds make sure that you practice this nightly.

Drink of intention.

Whatever your evening drink of choice, or as a healthy addition take a special glass of water, take a moment while you are making it to infuse it with your intention. Hold your cup. Focus on your desired outcome, how it feels to be the future you with your goals and dreams aligned. Charge your drink with your thoughts and intentions. As you are enjoying your drink, take a moment at each sip to think about what your intention means to you and how you will keep your positive thinking at all times until it becomes a habit. The drink works as a token to keep you anchored into your authentic self, and the quick routine makes it possible to quickly add this into your evenings.

Clean teeth and clear mind.

When brushing your teeth (or other evening hygiene activity) visualize discarding some of the unhelpful thoughts from your mind. You know, the noisy, repetitive, usually non benefical type. No matter your connection to these thoughts, letting go of them is definitely for the better. Practice gently brushing these thoughts off of you and down the drain. Send them grounding into the earth. Use mindshift meditation energize movement to refill your energetic void.
